What We Do
As the name indicates, this program hosts on a prom for kids – specifically those fighting cancer or blood disorders. But it’s a lot bigger than a dance.
These kids miss so much as they fight these terrible diseases, and when they do get a chance to join their classmates, they often feel like outsiders because of their conditions.
This program gets all the children in the area between the ages of 13 to 18 for an amazing night out where they’re surrounded by kids fighting the same fight. Where wigs aren’t weird and ports are just as common as jewelry.
How We Do It
Leading up to the event, girls are invited to a boutique day where they get to find a dress that makes them feel their best and take it home for free. Then, on the day of the event, hair and makeup is provided by local beauticians.
The event itself is an epic night with limo rides, a full red carpet entrance, and sense of belonging so joyful that by then end of the night many kids ditch their wigs and let loose on the dance floor.
