What We Do
Childhood cancer has always been a core focus of ours.
These children show so much bravery in the face of such a devastating diagnoses, but being so tough takes a toll. So, with help from The Child Life Council, we select 6 children each year and adopt them into our Game Day Heroes program where they spend a year on the ride of their lives.
Each incoming class meets the previous year’s class to keep the group growing and build these vital relationships.
This program was inspired by James Ragan, a young man fighting cancer for himself and every one of the 175,000 children diagnosed with pediatric cancer each year.
How We Do It
Riding go-carts with Mario Andretti and Will Power, duck hunting with the Duck Commanders, on the field for Saints games, Pelicans games… and they do it all together.
The smiles we put on the faces of these boys and girls fighting cancer isn’t all this program does. It also connects families with other families going through the same experience. It provides lasting support systems and lifelong friends.
